C.T.Wilson & Son - a family history
The business was established around 1860. The ‘CT’ of C.T. WILSON AND SON, was Charles Thomas Wilson, a coal merchant born in Emberton. Initially Charles ran the coal business delivering with his horse and cart. He also ran one of the two pubs in Emberton, The Bell.
Les Wilson, his son, ran the other pub in the village, The Bear, which are now both combined. Some years later his son Les joined the coal business. Les and his wife, Jean ran the pub together. They had six children most of whom were born in what is now called The Bell and Bear.
